(p. 291: Hermine und Ron schlagen Harry vor, Unterricht in DADA zu erteilen. Die Geburtsstunde von "Dumbledore's Army" hat geschlagen.)

'"No, you know what you're doing?", Ron said, sounding both scared and impressed. "Harry, you're reading You-Know-Who's mind!"

(p. 339: Allmählich wird Harry und seinen Freunden klar, dass eine enge gedankliche Verbindung zwischen Harry und Voldemort besteht. Noch ahnen sie nicht, dass die Gedankenübertragung auch in der Gegenrichtung funktioniert)

'"Yeah, well," said Moody, "there's something funny about the Potter kid, we all know that."

"Course he's worried," growled Moody. "The boy's seeing things from inside You-Know-Who's snake. Obviously, Potter doesn't realise what that means, but if You-Know-Who's possessing him -"'

(p. 501: Sollte die beiläufige Erwähnung der "onion" in Verbindung mit dem satireähnlichen Blatt "The Quibbler" eine versteckte Anspielung auf den Artikel in dem Online-Satiremagazin www.theonion.com (siehe auch hier) sein, der JKR seitdem den unbegründeten Vorwurf des Satanismus eingebracht hat?)

(p. 728: Dumbledore gibt zu, einen entscheidenden Fehler gemacht zu haben, als er Harry im Unklaren ließ)

Die spannendsten Stellen in HP5:

'"You'll have to kill me," whispered Sirius.'

(S. 641: Nun ist die Identität von Voldemorts vermeintlichem Opfer klar. Harry sieht Sirius in Lebensgefahr und wird alles tun, um ihn zu retten. Damit beginnt der rund 80 Seiten lange Showdown: Kap. 32 "Out of the Fire" bis Kap. 36 "The Only One He Ever Feared")

'And then, from right behind them, a drawling voice spoke.
"Very good, Potter. Now turn around, nice and slowly, and give that to me."'

(p. 688: Als Harry die Prophezeihung in der Hand hält, kommen die von Lucius Malfoy geführten Todesser. Nach kurzen Nervenkrieg beginnt der Kampf)

'Voldemort paid no attention.
"I have nothing more to say to you, Potter," he said quietly. "You have irked me too often, for too long. AVADA KEDAVRA!"'

 (p. 717: Wieder einmal scheint Harrys letzte Stunde geschlagen zu haben. Aber im letzten Moment kommt Dumbledore ...)
